Role of the Occupational Therapists

Within the complex, acute and elderly medical service, the Occupational Therapists work with patients who have physical, psychological or social problems as a result of chronic disability, acute illness, injury or aging.

Our aim is to help you to be as independent and safe as possible when carrying out your daily tasks both in hospital and when you return home, or are discharged from hospital.

The Occupational Therapists do this by working closely with you and your family/carers to find out your needs so that you are able to stay in your own home. We can help you to maximise your independence when carrying out your daily routines and tasks by providing equipment or advice, adapting your environment or identifying needs for other services.
