child in clinic being shown how to use inhaler correctly

About our service

This service aims to support GP’s and Practice Nurses to manage children with asthma at home.  It is led by a Paediatrician and Health Visitor who are specialists in asthma in children.

The Specialist Health Visitor can assess children in the home and refer to the Asthma Clinic if necessary though the aim is to encourage children’s asthma to be managed and regularly reviewed by the GP/Practice Nurse.

All children assessed will be provided with a management plan to enable parents, carers and young people to manage at home and at school. Giving consistent advice to parents and children is important and the service leads provide education to all healthcare and social care professionals including schools.

Please ensure that you bring any inhalers / spacers that are currently being used.
