Irlam and Cadishead Volunteer Driver Service

Supported by Macmillan and the Irlam and Cadishead Health Improvement Service, this award-winning, locally funded service provides door-to-door, free of charge transport for cancer patients that live in Irlam, Cadishead, Rixton, Glazebrook and Hollins Green.

If you are receiving cancer treatment at Salford Royal (SRFT), Manchester Royal Infirmary (MUFT), Wythenshawe Hospital (UHSM) or The Christie and are in need of transport then please call or visit the Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Centre (based in The Christie at Salford Royal) on 0161 918 7804.

All members of the service are registered as volunteers with Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust and have undertaken the appropriate background checks and confidentiality training required to work with cancer patients.

If you live in Irlam, Cadishead or the surrounding area and might be interested in becoming a driver then we'd like to hear from you. You can get in contact with Volunteer Services by emailing volunteer@srft.nhs.uk or by calling 0161 206 8942.

This scheme has been set up in partnership with:
