Sir David Dalton celebration event at Oldham

Northern Care Alliance Chief Executive Sir David Dalton has been celebrating his retirement with staff

Sir David will leave the organisation on Friday this week (March 29) and has been spending time with colleagues across the Alliance to say goodbye and thank you for the tremendous support they’ve given him during his time as Chief Executive.

Sir David has lead Salford Royal for the past 18 years and Pennine Acute Trust for the past three years, leading to the formation of the Northern Care Alliance.

Accompanied by Chairman Jim Potter, he joined staff at Royal Oldham, North Manchester General Hospital and Fairfield General Hospital for staff celebrations and later this week will visit colleagues at Salford Royal.

Sir David said: “Whether it’s colleagues I’ve had since I started at Salford Royal 18 years ago or colleagues I’ve worked with in more recent years since the formation of the Northern Care Alliance, it’s been a pleasure to have one last opportunity to spend time with colleagues over the past few weeks.

“We’ve achieved so much as an organisation and this is down to the caring, hard-working, dedicated and talented people that I’ve had the privilege to work with across our hospitals and community services.

“I take with me so many happy and fond memories of my time as Chief Executive. My job has been so incredibly enjoyable and rewarding.

“The future is very bright for the Northern Care Alliance and I will watch with great pride as the organisation continues to develop and thrive and deliver the highest of standards for the patients it serves.”

Sir David will hand over the reins to Raj Jain, who has been appointed as the new Chief Executive of the Northern Care Alliance and starts in post on April 1.
