Members to take part in Sir David Dalton retirement celebrations

THE Northern Care Alliance is preparing to wave a fond farewell to Chief Executive Sir David Dalton.

Sir David will retire from the organisation on March 31following almost 40 years’ service to the NHS.

The Northern Care Alliance is the NHS Group formed by bringing together over 17,500 staff and services at Salford Royal and Pennine Acute NHS Trusts into a Group arrangement under one organisation. Sir David has been the Chief Executive at Salford Royal for the past 18 years and at Pennine Acute for the past three years. Raj Jain has been appointed as the new Chief Executive and will take over from Sir David on April 1.

Prior to his departure, Sir David will mark his retirement with staff across the Northern Care Alliance in a series of celebrations at Salford Royal, North Manchester General Hospital, Royal Oldham Hospital and Fairfield General at Bury.

The Northern Care Alliance wants to ensure its Members and the public are included in the celebrations. Members are members of the public who have signed up to support the two Trusts and become more involved, for example, attending events, receiving news and updates or being included in focus groups or consultations. The organisation has over 25,000 public Members.

A special ‘Medicine for Members’ session has been organised to give Members and the public the opportunity to hear from Sir David as he reflects on his time in the NHS and his thoughts for the future.

The event takes place 10am-11am, Friday, March 29 at Humphrey Booth Lecture Theatre, Level 1, Mayo Building, Salford Royal, Stott Lane, Salford, M6 8HD.

Places on the session need to be booked in advance. If you would like to reserve a place, please contact the Membership Team on 01706 517302 or email membership@pat.nhs.uk. Tea and coffee will be provided and if you have any access requirements, please mention this when you book.
